Eligible students will receive free tuition and most educational fees for up to 18 credits a semester. They also must make satisfactory academic progress at the College to remain eligible for the grant.

Independent students – those who do not have to report their parent income on their FAFSA application – must have an adjusted gross income not exceeding $65,000. Dependent students – those who must report their parent information on their FAFSA – must have a parent adjusted gross income not exceeding $65,000.

To begin the process, students should fill out the 2019-2020 FASFA application at www.fafsa.gov. RVCC’s school code is 007731. Students who do not meet the citizenship requirements for FASFA should go to www.njgrants.org to determine if they are eligible to fill out the New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid Application. Students who have already filled out their 2019-2020 FASFA and are current RVCC students, or have applied to RVCC, will automatically be considered for the grant.

The Opportunity Grant covers tuition and most educational fees including general fees, lab fees, program fees, registration fees and technology fees. It does not cover books, computers and other supplies, application fees, graduation fees, transcript fees and late fees.
