Established in 2011, the Honors Program provides an enriching, rigorous academic environment for a select group of high achieving students, who come from 20 different high schools in Somerset County and Hunterdon County. Challenging honors-level courses in subjects such as Art History, General Biology, General Chemistry, U.S. History, Calculus and Statistics leave students well prepared to transfer to highly competitive four-year colleges and universities. - Small Classes with an Interdisciplinary Focus
As an Honors College student, you will attend seminar-style courses with an interdisciplinary focus. Plus, the classes are limited to only 25 students per section.

As an RVCC Honors Student, you can participate in educational and cultural class trips to places like Washington, D.C, New York City, Philadelphia and Gettysburg.

Since classes are taught by a select group of faculty, you’ll establish a close working relationship with RVCC’s dedicated professors and advisors.

RVCC’s Honors College graduates are prepared to transfer to highly competitive four-year colleges and universities. Some have gone on to attend prestigious institutions such as: Georgetown University, Cornell University, Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania. RVCC also has special Honors College transfer relationships with outstanding four-year colleges—such as American University and Drew University—that increase a graduate’s chances of admission and transfer scholarships. The agreements also provide a gateway for students to participate in an honors program at the four-year college or university.
