Raritan Valley Community College’s Women’s Volleyball team had a perfect regular season in 2020-2021, finishing with a 9-0 record—without losing a single set. Its success and unblemished record earned the team a trip to the NJCAA D II East District Championship, held April 2 at Lackawanna College.

After defeating the Erie Community College team in the NJCAA D II East District semifinal game, the RVCC team lost to WVU Potomac State College in the Championship game.

With a season that was delayed because of the pandemic, “the team as a whole is just so thankful to be given the opportunity to play and have such a successful season. The perseverance of our student athletes through all the unknowns has been remarkable. It’s a true testament to their character and will to compete. I can’t wait to see what they do next year,” said Phil Herro, RVCC Women’s Volleyball Head Coach.

“All of the team’s successes would not have been possible without the support of the College and the help of our athletic trainer Eric Bridenbaugh. He always has our athletes’ best interests at heart, and he provides us with the safest environment in which to compete,” added Herro.

Last year, RVCC’s Women’s Volleyball team finished 10th in the country after making its first trip to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament in Rochester, Minnesota.
