The Perkins V grant allows Raritan Valley Community College to deliver career awareness presentations to middle schools and high schools in Hunterdon and Somerset counties, as well as work with local agencies on career awareness. The purpose of these events is to increase awareness for Career and Technical Education (CTE). RVCC students, alumni, faculty, and industry experts support these events. RVCC currently has 67 Career and Technical Education programs that are approved under the Perkins Grant.

Here is an example of what middle schools and high school educators are saying about their experiences with these events supported by the Perkins V grant: “Thank you so much for yesterday's outreach event! After talking to some of the students involved this morning, I can honestly say that it had a large impact! We took a step in the right direction to improve the futures of these students. Raising their interest and awareness in high skill careers will help many students to move forward.”

If you are interested in learning more about the grant or would like to participate in future career awareness events, contact Scott Miller, College Middle and High School Liaison, at scott.miller@raritanval.edu

RVCC is located at 118 Lamington Road in Branchburg, NJ. For further information, visit www.raritanval.edu.
