Raritan Valley Community College is a place where you can be seen, be heard, and belong.
It's a place where you can find your success from every moment you spend on, or even off, campus.
But what does that mean, and why is it true?

By Making it Affordable

If you've read any news about college, you know the cost continues to rise. The average cost per year for a student currently sits at more than $36,000. That's more than $72,000 over two years and $144,000 for four years. There are still four states in the U.S. with median home prices lower than $147,000.

But at RVCC you won't need to take out a mortgage-sized loan.

With a per-credit cost of less than $200 and a full-time credit load (12 credits) costing less than $3,000, a student can attend RVCC for a year for less than $6,000. And that's before any financial aid or scholarships.

Additionally, qualified students can go to RVCC without paying ANY tuition, thanks to the New Jersey Community College Opportunity Grant Program. Those who don't qualify for the full-tuition program may be eligible for a 50% reduction in cost.

Our students received more than $400,000 in scholarships last academic year and 31% of our students received Pell Grant funds. Flexible payment plans are also available.

By Supporting Our Students

Many RVCC students, faculty, and staff refer to our community as a family. That doesn't happen by accident.

At RVCC, a federally recognized Hispanic Serving Institution, we embrace the diversity that enriches our campus community by providing a safe space with resources and information throughout campus.

We foster a vibrant and exciting environment for students to challenge themselves in our Honors Program. We build a system of academic and economic assistance through programs such as our Educational Opportunity Fund Program (EOF).

We are inspired by the work of students in more than 40 cultural, academic, and special interest clubs and organizations, including student government. We strive to achieve and build camaraderie through our scholarship NJCAA Division II and non-scholarship NJCC Division III athletics programs (go Lions!).

We partner with industry leaders to provide unique real-life opportunities for our students, including our Sanofi Corporate Mentor Program. Career development and service learning are part of our culture.

By Offering Solutions to Educational Needs

Our two-year associate degree programs continue to give students dynamic study that propels them to immediate job placement or seamless transfer to the four-year institution of their choice. With more than 90 academic programs, there's something to suite just about anyone's interest.

But RVCC is more than just a place to attend class and get a degree. Way more.

We are a state leader in providing hands-on advanced career training. With our state-of-the-art Workforce Training Center as the hub, programs such as Advanced Manufacturing, Allied Health, Automotive Technology, Cosmetology, and HVAC are changing students' lives. Certifications, professional development courses, and even free training are available.

We are also serious about serving our adult learners. RVCC has launched an adult college initiative to offer specially designed educational and upskilling opportunities for adults age 25 and older dedicated to offering support through flexible scheduling, convenient online classes, and support services.

And for high school students looking to jumpstart their education, we offer our Early College Credits Program that allows juniors and seniors to earn real college credits at RVCC. Our Concurrent Enrollment Program allows students to take rigorous academic courses right at their high school to fulfill college requirements.

By Leading by Example

If you believe walking the walk is important, then you have something in common with us.

For example, sustainability is a passion of ours. We have received a STARS Gold rating by the Association for the Advancement in Higher Education and are the No. 1 overall two-year college in the entire country for our sustainability efforts. And, as you can imagine, our sustainability education and research is just as impressive.

We also take community building and engagement seriously. RVCC was thrilled to host the the National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals (NIIMBL) eXperience to offer students from diverse backgrounds access to corporate exposure, professional branding, and personal development, empowering them to feel confident and motivated to achieve their academic and professional aspirations.

RVCC is also home to the Planetarium and 3M Observatory in addition to robust arts and theater offerings, many featured in the 1,000-seat Edward Nash Theatre.

By Celebrating Our Amazing Students

Every year our current students and graduates blow us away with their achievements.

Whether it's winning a national community college scholarship for up to $55,000 a year to complete a bachelor's degree, being selected to participate in a new Princeton University initiative, or creating a 2,000-square-foot mural at an important community transportation center, our students are not just reaching for their goals - they are achieving them.

And we are just as excited to see what our students do after graduation. We are very proud of so many of our former students, which include a recently selected Fulbright Scholar.
