RVCC STUDENT TO RECEIVE NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP
Lynne Postman of Somerset, a second-year student in Raritan Valley Community College?s (RVCC) Ophthalmic Science program, has been selected to receive a Transitions? Healthy Sight for Life Fund scholarship.
Postman is 1 of 10 Opticianry students selected to receive the $500 scholarship, which is part of a national contest sponsored by Transitions Optical of Pinellas Park, Florida. She won the competition by preparing an original research paper on how to communicate with patients about the quality of their vision.
RVCC offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Ophthalmic Science. The program, which prepares students for careers in the optical industry as opticians, was recently renewed for full accreditation status for six years by the Commission on Opticianry Accreditation.
