The Allied Health department of Raritan Valley Community College?s (RVCC) Corporate & Continuing Education (CCE) division is offering a Food Handlers Certificate Course this spring. The one-session program, which is being held in cooperation with Bridgewater Township, is being offered Monday, January 14, from 5:30 to 9 p.m., at the College?s North Branch Campus.

The Food Handlers Certificate offers food establishment representatives a one-session course focusing on Chapter 24 of the New Jersey Sanitary Code. Presented by a New Jersey State Licensed Environmental Health Specialist, the program provides an assessment of the practical application of food sanitation techniques involved in the operation of a retail food establishment.

Participants receive an introduction to the basic elements of the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) systems approach to food production operations. Many municipal ordinances mandate successful completion of a food safety certification program.
