RVCC TO BE ?SMOKE-FREE? CAMPUS
Effective August 27, Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) will be a smoke-free campus. No smoking will be permitted in any College buildings or anywhere on College grounds.
The new policy is a result of an initiative that involved members of the entire College community, including staff, faculty and students.
?RVCC is committed to providing a safe learning environment for all of our students,? said RVCC President Dr. Casey Crabill. ?Maintaining a smoke-free campus will enable students, faculty and staff, as well as visitors to the College, to enjoy all that RVCC has to offer in a healthy, clean setting,? Dr. Crabill continued.
In the past, smoking was prohibited inside campus buildings but was permitted in special designated ?smoking areas? outside.
RVCC, located on Route 28 and Lamington Road in North Branch, NJ, and serving Somerset and Hunterdon County residents for close to 40 years, offers more than 80 associate degrees and certificates. In addition, customized training programs and non-credit courses are available for those seeking personal and professional development.
The College is committed to offering a quality and affordable education through effective teaching, liaisons with the community?s businesses and state-of-the-art technology. For further information, visit www.raritanval.edu .
