RVCC TO OFFER YOUTH TECHNOLOGY CLASSES

The Corporate & Continuing Education (CCE) division at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) will offer a variety of technology-oriented classes for children ages 8-14. The following courses will be offered at RVCC?s North Branch Campus:

Video Game Creation: Students ages 9-14 are introduced to the fundamental concepts of object-oriented software design and video game creation through fun, hands-on tutorials. The class will be held Saturdays, March 7-28, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The fee is $195.

Digital Music Video Creation: Students ages 9-14 learn to create and produce an original music video. The class will be held Saturdays, March 7-28, from 12-2 p.m. The fee is $195.

Lightz! Camera! Action!: Students ages 11-14 learn the dynamics of filmmaking, including storytelling, shooting, editing, using graphics and sound, and more. The class will be held Fridays, March 6-20, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The fee is $195.

Comic Book Heroes: Students ages 11-14 use the latest software to make characters from their imagination come to life on the screen. The class will be held Saturdays, March 7-21, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The fee is $195.

Keyboarding: Students ages 8-14 perfect their touch-keyboarding skills and learn the fundamentals of word processing. The class will be held Saturdays, March 7-28, from 9-10:30 a.m. for students ages 8-10, and from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for students ages 11-14. The fee is $74.

Kidz Creations with PowerPoint: Students ages 10-12 develop an understanding of a variety of applications associated with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. The class will be held Saturdays, March 7-28, from 9-10:30 a.m. The fee is $74.

Web Page Design: Students ages 8-10 explore kid-friendly sites on the World Wide Web and receive an introduction to HTML to design a web page. The class will be held Saturdays, April 18 to May 9, from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The fee is $74.
