Raritan Valley Community College will hold its annual pollinator event on Thursday, November 16, at 1 p.m. The event, which is free of charge and open to the public, will be held in the Atrium at the College’s Branchburg campus. The program is a component of RVCC's Bee Campus USA certification, which the College has maintained since 2016.

In nature, flowers have co-evolved with insects and other animals. During the event, New Jersey Audubon ecologist Dorothy Smullen will explain flower structure and the ways that flowers attract their pollinators, including bees, butterflies, moths, flies, beetles, birds, and bats.

The annual pollinator event is co-sponsored by RVCC's Environmental Sustainability Committee and Environmental Club and the Somerset County Business Partnership's Sustainable Somerset. Lunch will be provided by Advanced Solar Projects.

Parking is available in Lot 1. For information, contact Sue Dorward, RVCC Sustainability and Energy Coordinator, at susan.dorward@raritanval.edu.
