FAQ: Rosters and Enrollment
How do I find my rosters?
Go to the MyFac tab in the Lion’s Den and look for the “Faculty Dashboard.” You’ll see all of your current classes listed there. Click on the "people icon" next to a course to see the roster for that course.
How many students can I expect in my class?
English Composition I and II classes can have up to 25 students in them. Developmental English courses (ICRC I and ICRC II) as well as English Composition I with Workshop can have up to 19 students.
How can I check the current enrollment in my courses?
Go to the MyFac tab in the Lion’s Den and look for the links under “Web Schedules with Enrollment.” Click on the link for "Full Academic Year," then follow the on-screen promts to see current enrollment numbers for your courses.
How do I find out if my course is cancelled?
Courses may be cancelled if the enrollment is below 12; however, in some circumstances, courses below 12 may stay open. You should keep an eye on your enrollment in Lion’s Den so you’re aware of whether the course is in danger of not running. If a course is cancelled due to low enrollment, the Department Chair will email you at your RVCC email address (so make sure you’re checking it), and the students will be contacted and informed about other available sections to sign up for. If you’re concerned about the enrollment of your course and you haven’t heard anything, feel free to contact the Department Chair.
Also, please keep in mind that if a fulltime faculty member’s course is cancelled due to low enrollment, that faculty member will need to pick up a course with higher enrollment in order to meet the teaching load required for fulltime faculty. While we try hard to plan the appropriate number of courses to avoid this from happening, enrollment is difficult to predict, so it’s possible that even though you are assigned a course and it has more than 12 students, another faculty member maybe be assigned to teach it at the last minute because his/her own class was cancelled. If this occurs, you would be contacted immediately by the Department Chair.
