RVCC is pleased to announce that we will be accepting Student Ambassador Applications for the Spring 2014 semester. Application materials include the ambassador application and the following attachments: 1) updated resume, 2) personal statement and 3) letter of recommendation by a RVCC faculty or staff member. The Student Ambassador Program is Raritan Valley Community College’s way of recognizing special students and utilizing their time and talents when conducting recruitment and public relations events. The program is an enjoyable growth and learning experience. Finalists will be interviewed and chosen by a college selection committee.

What do Student Ambassadors do?
-Assist in campus recruiting events such as Open Houses, Campus Experience Days, Information
Sessions and other recruiting or public relations events as needed.
-Assist the First Year Experience Office with New Student Orientation (ROARS) by greeting and
checking in attendees, assisting new students with registering for classes and serving as a tour guide.
-Provide a unique student perspective to the quality of experiences offered at RVCC by speaking to
prospective students (Recruiting Events), new students (ROARS), scholarship donors (Foundation
-Assist with RVCC Foundation fundraising and/or alumni events.
-Conduct campus tours for individuals or groups on a scheduled and/or walk-in basis.
-Act as “Meeters and Greeters” at college functions such as Weeks of Welcome (WOW) Events.
-Assist the college with community outreach and service such as the 4-H Fair.
-Accompany staff members on high school recruitment visits.
-Assist other students as needed and appropriate.
-Participate in other major campus-wide events as requested.
Is there criteria I have to meet before I can apply?
-Student must submit a 1 page type written letter of recommendation from an RVCC faculty or staff member along with their application and a 1 page type written personal statement.
-Student must submit a current copy of their resume with the application.
-Student must be available for an interview by the selection committee.
-Student must attain (15) RVCC credit hours prior to applying for the Ambassador Program.
-Student must be enrolled in at least (12) credit hours at RVCC while serving as an ambassador.
-Student must be available to work 65 hours per semester.
-Student must attain/maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
-Student Ambassadors may serve only two consecutive semesters. They may reapply after one semester "off"
-Student cannot hold any Student Government office.
Are there any benefits?
-Upon successful completion of the 65 hours per semester, each Student Ambassador will be reimbursed for (8) tuition credit hours.
-Student Ambassadors will receive an RVCC polo shirt, ambassador name badge, and lanyards.
-Student Ambassadors will receive training in leadership, communication, and networking skills.
-Student Ambassadors will be invited to become a member of the Student Ambassador Group Page located on the Lion's Den.
-Student Ambassadors will be recognized at the annual Student Leadership Awards reception.
