RVCC’s healthcare training programs prepare you for in-demand employment opportunities across a variety of areas, with small class sizes, accomplished faculty, and innovative teaching. Classes are offered year-round on days, evenings, and weekends to fit different schedules for both full-time students and working professionals. Nursing

Graduates of RVCC’s highly respected and accredited Nursing RN program receive an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing and qualify to take the RN-NCLEX exam for Registered Nursing Licensure. The College also offers an LPN to RN Nursing Bridge Program.

Electrocardiograph (ECG) Technician

An electrocardiogram (ECG) is an important test to evaluate heart health. RVCC’s 40-hour ECG training program prepares you to work as a nationally certified ECG Technician in a wide variety of settings, including hospitals, physicians offices, clinics, sports medicine facilities, nursing homes, and insurance companies.

Phlebotomy Lab Assistant

Phlebotomists are trained in specimen collection and processing and remain integral members of the laboratory team. This program consists of 100 hours of classroom/lab instruction and 80 hours of clinical practice at a hospital while preparing you for employment as a phlebotomist in hospitals, outpatient clinics, medical practices, and insurance companies.

Medical Cannabis Training

Many prospective students wonder: What are some new career opportunities in healthcare? The medical cannabis industry is one of the top growing fields in NJ—and RVCC provides the state’s only certification for employment in this highly-regulated industry. This online course covers different elements of the NJ Medical Cannabis Market, including regulatory provisions, the Endocannabinoid system, patient counseling, and more.

Dental Radiology

Start your path towards a rewarding career as a member of the dental care team. Instruction consists of didactic, clinical, and laboratory modules, positioning students to succeed on the Radiation Health and Safety Exam (RHS) and become a Dental Radiologic Technologist

EMT Emergency Medical Technician

Looking to get your EMT certification? NJ residents must take the State EMT written exam in order to do soRVCC’s Emergency Medical Technician course prepares candidates for the exam in accordance with the U.S. DOT National EMS Education Standards.

Fitness Specialist

Prepare for a career as a certified fitness specialist with RVCC’s combination of classwork and hands-on experience using the American College of Sports Medicine guidelines.

Learn proper weight-training technique, flexibility, aerobic & resistance training, and more. The course will prepare you for the ACSM Personal Trainer Certification Exam and NCCA Personal Trainer Certification Exam.

Medical Assistant

Ranked in the top #100 Best Jobs by U.S. News and World Report, Medical Assisting consists of a mix of hands-on administrative and clinical tasks. RVCC’s Medical Assistant training program is accredited by the CAAHEP and prepares you to take the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Exam.

Medical Laboratory Technology program

RVCC’s new Associate of Applied Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) will provide you with the foundation in clinical laboratory sciences required for entry into the healthcare field as a Medical Laboratory Technician. Through a combination of classroom, laboratory, and clinical experiences, you will learn how to perform diagnostic laboratory tests used in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. The program also will prepare you to take the national Medical Laboratory Technician exam to receive certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).  To learn more, register for an upcoming Medical Laboratory Technology Virtual Information Session on April 18.

Occupation Therapy Assistant

Did you know that RVCC is the only New Jersey community college to offer Occupational Therapy Assistant training? In this role, you’ll collaborate with occupational therapists to provide rehabilitative services to individuals with physical, emotional, mental, or developmental impairments.

Ophthalmic Science

If you’re interested in optician training programs, RVCC offers the opportunity to receive an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Ophthalmic Science. Accredited by the Commission on Opticianry Accreditation, the program prepares you for a career of interpreting prescriptions, fabricating and grinding lenses, and fitting, adjusting and dispensing eyewear and contact lenses.
