What We Do

We partner with students who have documented disabilities to:

  • Help you understand what accommodations you can receive
  • Make sure your accommodations are implemented smoothly
  • Support you as you navigate college life
  • Empower you to advocate for your needs and reach your full potential

Our work aligns with federal laws such as the ADA and Section 504, which protect your right to equal access in higher education.

Who Can Use CAIE?

Any enrolled RVCC student with a documented disability may qualify for accommodations. If you’re eligible for admission to RVCC, you’re eligible to participate fully in all programs, activities, and courses with the right supports in place

Our Mission

We’re here to:

  • Make sure you have equal and integrated access to everything RVCC offers
  • Provide reasonable accommodations tailored to your needs
  • Help remove barriers—so you can focus on learning and building your future
  • Encourage your independence while offering support when you need it

How to Get Started

You can connect with CAIE as early as the moment you apply to RVCC. Here’s what the process looks like:

1. Schedule an Intake Appointment

This meeting is your chance to share your experiences, strengths, and challenges so we can understand how to best support you.

2. Submit Documentation

Bring documentation from a qualified healthcare professional that explains your disability and functional limitations. (You can submit this during or after intake.)

3. Give Us Time to Review

Our team reviews requests in the order they’re received. Please allow 2–3 weeks for processing.

Once approved, we’ll work with you and your instructors to make sure everything is put into place.
