Raritan Valley Community College’s Visual and Performing Arts Department will present The Sonic Life of a Giant Tortoise by Toshiki Okada, translated by Aya Ogwawa, October 24-26, at 7:30 p.m. The performances will be held in the Welpe Theatre at the College’s Branchburg campus.The dramatic comedy, a modern folktale set against an urban landscape, depicts people’s desires for an extraordinary life. While everything seems comfortable in the characters’ everyday lives, they are affected by a powerful undercurrent of longing for something more.In its review of the play, Time Out New York said: “These are serious questions, and I, like the characters, may be sleeping through them.
