Raritan Valley Community College’s Arts & Design department will stage a Performing Arts Showcase, Bars, Apartments and Batman, March 26-28, at 7 p.m. The showcase, which is free of charge and open to the public, will be presented in the Welpe Theatre at the College’s Branchburg campus.Bars, Apartments and Batman will feature one-acts and extended scenes from plays by Neil Simon, John Patrick Shanley, Maria Irene Fornes, and Marco Ramirez.The scenes range from comic to dramatic and are a collaboration between the students and director, RVCC Professor Dennis Russo. The goal was for the students to have a direct hand in the content being staged.
The showcase concept is common in the industry as a way for actors to celebrate and promote their range as performers.The content is for mature audiences and contains adult language and themes.
