Raritan Valley Community College’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the honor society for two-year colleges, received multiple awards at recent conventions sponsored by the international organization.RVCC chapter members attended the PTK international convention, Catalyst, held April 3-5 in Kansas City, MO, and received several prestigious awards, including:
- Distinguished Chapter – Beta Alpha Award, for chapters that have received a Distinguished Chapter Award for three consecutive years
- Distinguished Honors in Action, for its project titled “Beyond Ink: The Stories of Tattoos,” focusing on how tattoos are an intricate type of storytelling, and people often use them to express stories of connection, survival, and motivation
- Honors in Action Theme Award
- Distinguished Chapter Officer – Emily Rosalli
- Distinguished Advisor Award – chapter co-advisors Janelle Varin and Sara BanfieldEarlier, the RVCC chapter received several awards at PTK’s Middle States Regional Convention, held March 7-9 at the Double Tree by Hilton Somerset Hotel and Conference Center. The chapter’s honors at the regional conference included:
