Members of the community are invited to participate in Raritan Valley Community College’s fourth annual Giving Day on March 19. The 24-hour online event raises funds for scholarships, educational programs, and student organizations at the College. Last year, the RVCC Foundation netted $25,549, making it the most successful Giving Day in the College’s history.

Those interested in being counted as a donor should visit www.raritanval.edu/GivingDay on March 19 and make a minimum gift of $10, choosing from nearly 30 programs and causes to support. Donors also may text RVCC to 71777 to donate from their phone, using any major credit or debit card. Anyone interested in making a “pledge” of support in advance of March 19 can do so by texting RVCC to 71777 or by visiting the RVCC Giving Day site (www.raritanval.edu/GivingDay). Those who pledge in advance will be contacted on March 19 by RVCC staff to accept their gift and designated area of support.

“RVCC Giving Day is a wonderful opportunity for the community to express its support of the College and all that it offers to Somerset and Hunterdon counties and beyond. And the good news is donations can be made online, so you can show that support from the comfort of your home,” says Mike Marion, RVCC Foundation Executive Director.

This year, the Foundation has announced a new “Impact” award granting $1,000 each to the two RVCC students clubs that are the most successful in raising funds or securing the greatest number of donors for Giving Day. In addition, a new Giving Day video, Join Our Team, has been conceived, directed, filmed and edited by RVCC students featuring an all-student cast. The project was led by Gabriella Taylor, a student representative to the RVCC Foundation Board of Directors.
