Jesse May

The Raritan Valley Community College Alumni Association has honored Jesse May, RVCC Class of 2004, with the Distinguished Alumni Award. The annual award was given at the College’s Academic Awards Dinner, held May 11 at the College’s Branchburg Campus.

The Skillman resident is the Chief Development Officer for Northwestern Mutual - Princeton. A certified coach, May also possesses several securities licenses (Series 7, 4, 24, 63, and 66 with FINRA) as well as life and health insurance licenses.

May, who received an Associate Degree in Business Administration from the College, attributes much of his success to his time at Raritan Valley Community College. “My engagement and focus on academics was not as strong in high school, but the opportunities I had at RVCC provided a better landscape to harness my success. The things I learned during my time at RVCC, combined with my life experiences, have helped to distinguish me in my career.”

May has been an active volunteer since 2005 with the Flemington-based Spina Bifida Resource Network in honor of his son, Thomas, who was born with spina bifida. In his community, he has volunteered as a youth baseball coach and also has helped raise money for Special Olympics and Alex’s Lemonade Stand. He lives with his wife, Melissa, who is also an RVCC alumna, and their four children.

The RVCC Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes living RVCC alumni for their professional achievements; civic contribution within their local community, the state or nationally; academic achievements; service to the College; and personal triumphs.

The Alumni Association’s mission is to provide services and benefits that enrich the lives of RVCC alumni, to build lasting ties between alumni and the College, and to foster support among alumni for the work of the College now and in the future.
