In commemoration of Kristallnacht, the Institute of Holocaust & Genocide Studies at Raritan Valley Community College will present an online screening of a documentary film, Shoah Ambassadors, Wednesday, November 12, from 10-11:30 a.m. The event is free of charge and open to the public.

Kristallnacht, also known as Night of the Broken Glass, is the name given to the violent attacks against the businesses, places of worship, and homes of Jews throughout Germany and in the annexed countries, including Austria and Sudetenland, on November 9 and 10, 1938. The violence was implemented by the Nazi leaders. “Shoah” is the Hebrew word for the Holocaust.

Shoah Ambassadors, a one-hour documentary, was directed and produced by Keith Famie. The film focuses on educating the younger generation about the horrors and atrocities of the genocide through “ambassadors” Curtis Bates and Hailey Callahan, who tell the story through their personal, artistic expression. A question-and-answer session with Famie will follow the screening.
