Raritan Valley Community College applauds the expansion of a bus route that will enhance transportation options for students commuting from North Plainfield to the College’s Branchburg campus. The expanded route for Somerset County’s CAT-2R (Community Access Transit) shuttle system will offer peak-hour service from North Plainfield to the College from Monday to Friday.

“We are extremely grateful to the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Somerset County Transportation Division for their visionary action in providing bus service from North Plainfield to Raritan Valley Community College. The College currently serves some 500 North Plainfield students and we expect more residents will take advantage of RVCC’s high quality, affordable education once public transportation is available,” said RVCC President Michael J. McDonough.

The new bus route, which is scheduled to begin May 30, also will offer stops in Bound Brook, Somerville – including RWJ University Hospital Somerset – and Raritan. The fare for the CAT service is $2 for a one-way ride.
