Student Jazz Ensemble to Perform on May 8

Raritan Valley Community College’s Student Jazz Ensemble will perform in concert Thursday, May 8, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held in the Welpe Theatre at the College’s Branchburg campus.
The group is directed by RVCC faculty member Jeremy Sweet.
The program will perform music by Benny Golson, Sonny Rollins, Horace Silver, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Duke Ellington, Freddie Hubbard, George Gershwin, Miles Davis, and Bobby Hebb. All of these performances will feature spontaneous improvisations by student musicians.
The Student Jazz Ensemble includes the following members: Horace Smith, alto sax; Daniel Santos, tenor sax; Daniel Santos, Michael Cadwallader, and Zaire Wilson piano; Damon Deangelo, Kevin Cruz, and Christian Sergile, drums; Linda Matos, Sarah Stefaniak, and Zaire Wilson, vocals; Gianmarco Flores, Anish Batki, Ellyot Paredes, James “Jimmy” Kosta, and Nathaniel “Cory” Richemond, guitar; and Joseph Lascala, bass.
