Gain Real Spa Experience

Build confidence while working with real clients in RVCC’s student-run Protege Salon & Spa. During the advanced portion of the program, students perform skincare services under professional supervision, gaining valuable hands-on experience that prepares them for employment in salons, spas, and skincare clinics.

SKCR 110 Esthetics Foundations (0–300 Hours)

Build the foundational skills needed to begin your career as a skincare professional. After completing 300 hours, students become eligible to receive a student permit and begin working in a spa or salon setting.

Topics include:

  • Industry orientation and professional success
  • Infection control
  • Skin diseases and disorders
  • Hair removal techniques
  • Skin physiology and histology
  • Durable workplace skills

SKCR 120 Esthetics Advanced (301–600 Hours)

Expand your technical knowledge and practical experience while preparing for licensure and employment in the beauty industry. Successful completion of SKCR 110 is required before enrolling in this advanced course.

Topics include:

  • Skin machines and light therapy
  • Basic anatomy
  • Advanced skincare treatments
  • Corrective makeup techniques
  • State laws and regulations
  • Durable workplace skills

Students also gain hands-on experience working with clients in Protege Salon & Spa, allowing them to refine their skills in a real-world environment before graduation.
