This introductory course provides a practical overview of instructional design and the growing career opportunities within the field.

Participants learn the core principles used to create engaging, effective learning experiences while gaining hands-on experience applying instructional design concepts to real or simulated projects.

Topics include:

  • Introduction to instructional design
  • Career pathways in learning and development
  • Creating learner personas
  • Writing measurable learning objectives
  • Storyboarding instructional content
  • Designing learner-centered experiences
  • Exploring learning management systems (LMS)
  • Introduction to authoring tools
  • Applying instructional design models and frameworks
  • Developing portfolio-ready learning artifacts

Throughout the course, participants work on a project that allows them to immediately apply what they learn and create tangible examples for their professional portfolio, workplace training initiatives, or teaching practice.

This course is ideal for educators, trainers, subject matter experts, HR professionals, and anyone interested in learning how instructional experiences are designed and delivered.
