Top 5 Things to Know about RVCC’s College Transfer Agreements

1. College Transfer Agreements Save Time and Money

Taking advantage of RVCC’s Transfer Agreements can be cost-effective, as the price of taking the same courses at a four-year institution would be significantly higher. And, because the agreements help ensure that all of the credits you earn will transfer to a new school, you will save time too!

 2. RVCC Has Over 90 Transfer Agreements

To make transferring to a four-year college or institution easier for you, RVCC offers over 90 Transfer Agreements with domestic and international institutions. These agreements help facilitate the transfer of credits from RVCC to the four-year institution, although you can still transfer to a school that doesn’t have a formal agreement with the College.  A recent addition to the list is Emerson College in Boston. The new agreement facilitates the transfer of RVCC graduates to Emerson’s campuses in Boston, Los Angeles and the Netherlands after they have completed at least 32 credits at RVCC and maintained the requisite grade point average.

 3. The New RVCC and FIT Transfer Agreement Makes History and Toys

RVCC is the first community college in the country to sign an agreement with the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) to facilitate the transfer of RVCC graduates—interested in studying the specialized field of toy design—to FIT. RVCC students who receive an Associate of Fine Arts in Visual Communication may seamlessly transfer to FIT’s Bachelor of Fine Arts Program in Toy Design with junior status. The program has a cumulative 98% job placement rate, and its graduates have gone on to work on some of the world's most iconic toys!

 4. Word-of-Mouth Speaks Volumes

When considering RVCC’s transfer agreements, go straight to the source: the RVCC community. Hearing from graduates about how they benefited from transfer agreements is priceless. Click here to hear their thoughts.

5. Students Still Need to “Do Their Homework and Follow Protocol”

Students must be accepted through the normal transfer admission process. They still need to do their homework and research degree requirements, as there are sometimes prerequisite courses needed for particular majors. RVCC’s Academic Advisors and Transfer Counselors are happy to help and guide you through the process.
