New Student Registration

First-Time College Students

Students who have never attended college before or have 12 or fewer transfer credits from another institution are considered first-time students. To register for their first semester of classes, first-time students must attend ROARS (Raritan Orientation Advising Registration Sessions). At ROARS, you will join us to explore the RVCC campus & community, connect with students, faculty, and staff, and register for your first-semester classes with your academic advisor.

Before attending ROARS, students need to determine their Math & English Placement. You will receive an invitation to sign up for one of the ROAR Sessions after your placement has been determined. 

*ESL students who have been placed into Level IV or Level V coursework are also invited to attend ROARS. ESL students who have been placed into Level I, II, or III may be better served by an individual appointment with an academic advisor and/or ESL faculty advisor.

Incoming Transfer Students

Students with 12 or more credits from another institution are considered transfer students. To register for classes, schedule an appointment with an academic advisor by emailing acts@raritanval.edu or calling 908-526-1200 x8336. In the email, provide your G#, intended major, and the name of your previous institution(s). Be sure to bring an official or unofficial copy of your transcript(s) with you to your appointment.

To formally have credits transferred over to RVCC, an official transcript must be sent from your previous institution(s) to the RVCC Enrollment Services office. Contact registrar@raritanval.edu with questions pertaining to receipt/evaluation of your transcript(s).
