2018 RVCC Graduate Spotlight:  Adventures Await!

The students in RVCC’s graduating class of 2018 have completed their studies in their respective degree programs and they are off to new and exciting adventures!  In fact, many of the graduates have opted to advance their studies by transferring to prestigious colleges and universities.

Transferring colleges can be relatively seamless thanks to RVCC’s over 90 transfer agreements, featuring a wide range of colleges and universities in New Jersey, across the country and even in Europe! RVCC advisors can help navigate the process so that students can more easily transfer credits to their new school.

Randall S. Petronko

From: Flemington, NJ
RVCC Major:  Liberal Arts
Honors: Graduated RVCC Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA. Member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Achievements/Interests: Served as Student Commencement Speaker. Disabled US Navy Veteran who was active with Project Healing Waters.
Next Steps: Transferring to Rutgers University - New Brunswick and eventually attending law school.

 

Paige Hann

From: Phillipsburg, NJ
RVCC Major: English and Liberal Arts (Theatre) at the Honors College
Honors:  Graduated RVCC Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA. Received the Academic Award for English and consistently named to the President’s List. Served as Executive Vice President of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Achievements/Interests: Served as Executive Vice President of the Run-on Sentences Club.
Next Steps: Transferring to Yale University to pursue bachelor’s degrees in theatre and English.

 

Shawn Wallace

From: North Plainfield, NJ
RVCC Major: Music at the Honors College
Honors:  Recipient of the Academic Award for Music. Graduated RVCC Cum Laude.  
Achievements/Interests: NJ STARS scholarship recipient. Active with Rotaract and Enactus.
Next Steps: Transferring to the Berklee College of Music to study film scoring.

 

Gabriella Massa

From: Raritan, NJ
RVCC Major: Criminal Justice
Honors: Member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Graduated RVCC Cum Laude.
Achievements/Interests: Recipient of a Criminal Justice Scholarship.
Next Steps: Attending Syracuse University.

 

Alex Updegrove

From: Branchburg, NJ
Major: Liberal Arts
Honors: Graduated RVCC Magna Cum Laude. Named to the President's List and Dean’s List.
Next Steps: Pursuing a degree in business administration at Northeastern University.

 

Joshua A. Balcacer Fis

From: Iselin, NJ
RVCC Major:  Business Administration
Honors:  Member of the Phi Theta Kappa and Alpha Beta Gamma Honor Societies. Graduated RVCC Cum Laude.
Achievements/Interests: Student Ambassador and EOF Student Leader. Speaker at the RVCC Donor Scholarship Reception. Recipient of the Hazard Family Scholarship and the ERS Charitable Scholarship.
Next Steps: Attending Seton Hall University.
