The RVCC Foundation raised $153,185 at the 21st Annual RVCC Foundation Golf Classic, held June 9 at the Neshanic Valley Golf Course. The RVCC Foundation is the fundraising arm of Raritan Valley Community College.

This year’s event was another sellout, with 147 participants, including enthusiastic golfers representing a wide range of local businesses from throughout Hunterdon and Somerset counties and beyond. Corporate sponsors were headlined by this year’s “Title Sponsor,” LJS Electric. In addition to the golf sponsors, the event met its goal by raising $7,500 for a special “ONE FULL RIDE” new initiative, which will provide one full scholarship for a student attending Raritan Valley Community College.

“As always, we’re grateful for the generosity of our corporate community, and we were also very pleased to have held this year’s Classic at Neshanic Valley Golf Course—a public course and a true gem of the Somerset County Park Commission,” said Mike Marion, Executive Director, RVCC Foundation and RVCC Alumni Association. “We also can’t thank our RVCC students enough for the very visible role they played at this event.”

In keeping with the Classic’s tradition, the day’s festivities were very much student-focused and included the National Anthem performed on trumpet by RVCC Honors College graduate Justin Britten (Class of 2025). The event also featured RVCC student speaker Leah Yacos, recipient of the Somerset Hills Community Health Foundation Scholarship and the 2025 Rosalind Cuss Excellence in Nursing Award (Class of 2025), who addressed the gathering at a dinner following the day of golfing.

On the course, RVCC Arts & Design students Jordan McNelis (Class of 2025) and Sara Rasmussen (Class of 2026) painted in oil and watercolor, and each golfer received a pack of blank note cards featuring cover art by Arts & Design students Daria Bilan (Class of 2026), Aliyah Hobbs (Class of 2026), Emma-Leigh Johnson (Class of 2025), and Katherine Hagman (Class of 2026).

The RVCC Foundation provides the resources that enable the College to enhance its programs beyond public and tuition sources and to maintain its standing as a premier academic institution and one of the most important sources of culture and continuing education in Somerset and Hunterdon counties.

The RVCC Foundation Golf Classic is the non-profit’s largest in-person fundraising event of the year, and this year’s Classic attracted some 57 corporate sponsors, including Title Sponsor, LJS Electric, and Dinner Sponsors, Epic Management, Inc; Myth MVP; and Vanguard Energy Partners LLC

Net proceeds raised from the golf outing and auctions will support student scholarships, RVCC’s education programming, and other institutional priorities.
