Automotive Students, Program Benefit from Toyota Vehicle Donation

Raritan Valley Community College’s Automotive Technology program and students will greatly benefit from a recent donation of a vehicle from Toyota Motor North America, New York Region. The vehicle, a 2024 Toyota Corolla SE, will support RVCC’s partnership with Toyota and help develop students through the Toyota Technician Education College (TEC) Support program, according to Tom Senneca, Field Technical Specialist and Team Support Leader, Toyota Motor North America, New York Region.
Senneca visited RVCC’s Automotive Technology program in July when the vehicle was donated, meeting with students and offering a presentation on “Diagnostic Situations and Case Studies.”
The TECS program is designed to supplement RVCC’s existing Automotive Technology curriculum and help students interested in a career with Toyota or Lexus gain a “head start “ in their training, according to Senneca.
Students who complete the TECS eLearing modules are skilled as a Toyota Maintenance Level Certified Technician. This certification will help promote employment opportunities with neighboring Toyota or Lexus dealerships.
