The RVCC Chorale will give its annual spring concert on Sunday, May 1, at 3 p.m., in the Welpe Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College’s Branchburg campus.

The program will feature the world premiere of John Sichel’s Three Motets, a work made possible by a 2022 RVCC Faculty Research Grant. Three Motets blends live human performance and the words of E.E. Cummings, Friedrich Schiller and Walt Whitman with prerecorded and digitally altered birdsong and other natural sounds. The program also includes works by Vivaldi, Kodály, Eric Whitacre and other surprises.

Directed by Dr. John Sichel, RVCC Associate Professor of Music, the RVCC Chorale is composed of students, former students and members of the community. The spring concert’s performers include Peyton Diamond, Marissa Hyman, Victoria Mango, Kathleen Strong and Takiyah Thomas, sopranos; Holly Batren, Ruth Dilley, Jennifer Kapoian, Mrudala Murari, Dr. Rose Rizzi and Jane Sausanavage, altos; Jadon Black and Brandon Schuetz, tenors; and John Manganelli, Jose Perez and Peter Racile, basses. Dr. Anna Keiserman, RVCC Assistant Professor of Music, is the Chorale’s collaborative pianist.

General admission tickets cost $12 per person, $8 for students and seniors. Tickets may be purchased at the door on the day of the concert or in advance from the Theatre Box Office, 908-
725-3420. The Box Office is open Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

RVCC is located at 118 Lamington Road in Branchburg, NJ. For further information, visit www.raritanval.edu.
