Chorale to Perform Holst’s Choral Hymns from the Rig Veda

The Raritan Valley Community College Chorale will present its Spring Concert on Saturday, April 28, at 8 p.m. The performance will be held in the Welpe Theatre at the College’s Branchburg campus.

The program will feature Gustav Holst’s Choral Hymns from the Rig Veda, a setting of ancient Sanskrit texts (in English) for women’s voices and harp. Harpist JoAnn Hansen will assist the chorale for this performance. The program also will feature a cappella works spanning the centuries from the Middle Ages to modern day.

The RVCC Chorale is composed of current RVCC students, alumni and members of the community. This spring’s Chorale includes Eleni Catanzaro, Carina Gonzalez, Gillian Koch, Jennifer Koch, Mia Mazzariello, and Sandi Turner, sopranos; Sienna Benjamin, Ruth Dilley, Jennifer Kapoian, and Jane Sausanavage, altos; Stephen Chiselko, Patrick Gardner and Adam Witkowski, tenors; and Frank Becker, Jack Cohen, Michael Krupinski and Christopher Zanardi, basses.

General admission tickets cost $12 each, $8 for students and seniors. Tickets may be purchased at the door on the day of the concert or in advance from the Theatre Box Office, 908-725-3420. The Box Office is open Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
