English, Spanish Information Sessions, Campus Tours Set in February

Learn about all Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) has to offer by attending an Information Session in February at the College’s Branchburg campus. The College is offering General Information Sessions as well as special sessions for those interested in its Automotive Technology, Cosmetology and Esthetics (Skin Care) career programs. In addition, RVCC will hold Information Sessions for adult students in English and in Spanish.

General Information Sessions and campus tours are scheduled for Thursday, February 7, 10-11 a.m. (Conference Center, Room 101); Tuesday, February 12, 4-6 p.m. (Conference Center, Room 102); Wednesday, February 20, 10-11 a.m. (Conference Center, Room 101); and Thursday, February 28, 10-11 a.m. (Conference Center, Room 102).

During the sessions, RVCC Admissions specialists will provide information about:

• Enrolling in classes this summer and the Fall 2019 Semester
• Programs designed to help students transfer to top colleges and universities in New Jersey, across the country, and even in Europe
• Career training programs, designed in partnership with local industry, that can be completed in a year or less
• The admissions process
• Financial aid options and scholarship opportunities

An Information Session for RVCC’s Automotive Technology program will be held Thursday, February 7, 3-4 p.m., in the College’s Workforce Training Center. During the event, prospective students will have an opportunity to learn about the innovative and successful program, meet with staff and faculty, and explore the exciting career potential in the field of automotive technology. The Auto Tech program offers Subaru and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) manufacturer training. Program graduates attain additional industry credentials from Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS), Snap-On, and other industry partners to allow students to stand out to potential employers.

RVCC will offer an Information Session for its Beauty Professions programs Tuesday, February 26, 5-6:30 p.m., in the Workforce Training Center. During the Beauty Professions Information Session participants will learn about RVCC’s programs in Cosmetology and Esthetics (Skin Care) as they view and participate in hands-on hair demonstrations, meet the programs’ director, take part in a question-and-answer segment, and apply for either program. RVCC’s Cosmetology and Esthetics programs feature an accomplished teaching staff, innovative teaching methods, and opportunities for job shadowing and salon practicum. The programs offer proactive job placement for graduates.

Information Sessions for adults who are considering returning to college or have never attended college will be held Saturday, February 2, 10 a.m. (Conference Center, Room 102), and Monday, February 11, 6 p.m. (Conference Center, Room 101). Special Spanish-speaking sessions will be offered Saturday, February 2, 11 a.m. (Conference Center, Room 102), and Monday, February 11, 7 p.m. (Conference Center, Room 101).

Aside from general admissions information, the sessions will focus on transferring college credits, earning credits for life experience, and making a successful transition back to school after being away from the classroom for years.
