More than 100 children and parents from throughout the local community participated in a Little Scientist Night at Raritan Valley Community College, Branchburg. The February 28 event was sponsored by the Pioneer Family Success Center.

The Somerville-based organization connects families to helpful resources in Somerset County, bringing them together through free events and local activities.

The Pioneer Family Success Center has partnered with the College for several years on the Little Scientist Night event, which is designed to get young children excited about science.

Approximately 50 RVCC students volunteered at this year’s event, organizing and running activities involving children ages 4-10. In addition, eight RVCC student clubs participated in the program, which featured 15 different activities.

Ranked by BestColleges.com, WalletHub.com, and Niche.com as the #1 community college in New Jersey, Raritan Valley Community College has been serving as an academic and cultural center for Somerset and Hunterdon County residents for 50 years. The College has been nationally recognized for its service to the community, environmental stewardship, and commitment to diversity. It is home to a Planetarium, Science Education Institute and 3M Observatory; a 1,000-seat Theatre offering professional performances for all ages; and an Honors College for high achieving students.
