A Chorus Line (Big League Productions), Saturday, January 20, at 8 p.m.; $25 & $35

From the pen of legendary composer Marvin Hamlisch comes the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning singular sensation, A Chorus Line. Casting for a new Broadway musical is almost complete, and for 17 dancers, this audition is the chance of a lifetime. A Chorus Line brilliantly evokes both the glamour and grind of showbiz. It’s the musical for anyone who’s ever put everything on the line to fulfill a dream. The iconic score features such classics as “What I Did for Love, "One," "I Hope I Get It" and more. A Chorus Line has earned unanimous praise as one of the true masterpieces of live theatre.

Chousensha – The Challengers (Yamato – The Drummers of Japan), Friday, January 26, at 7 p.m.; $25 & $35

This wildly entertaining group of energetic young Taiko drummers presents a high-energy spectacle of athleticism, superhuman coordination, and heart-pounding intensity. Performing on drums that weigh up to half a ton, the Yamato drummers demonstrate a staggering display of physical strength. Their trademark infectious energy will leave audiences feeling totally exhilarated. Continually challenging themselves to reach greater heights, the drummers present a spirited performance celebrating the strength, hope, dreams and courage in all of us. The Evening Post has written of this production: “It was simply captivating. The incredible talent and sheer enjoyment of what they do was plain to see.”
