Students Volunteer During Medical Assistant Week Event
Students in Raritan Valley Community College’s Medical Assistant program recently volunteered at the New Jersey State Society of American Medical Technologists’ (AMT) meeting, held at the Crown Plaza in Edison.
The students, whose service learning efforts were part of the College’s Pray Family Center for Service Learning and Civic Engagement, offered their assistance by setting up for the event, helping guest speakers with their presentations and handouts, and organizing ice breaker activities. They also had the opportunity to network with RVCC Medical Assistant alumni who were being named delegates of the New Jersey State AMT Chapter.
The annual event was held during Medical Assistant Recognition Week, which honors the contributions of medical assistants.
