Theatre to Present Evening of Irish Music Featuring Danú
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day a little bit early at The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg with a performance of the always entertaining Danú, Friday, February 18, at 8 p.m.
Hailing from historic County Waterford, Danú is one of today’s leading, traditional Irish ensembles. The artists’ standing-room-only concerts throughout Ireland are true events featuring high-energy performances and a glorious mix of ancient Irish music and new repertoire.
Danú takes its audiences on a musical journey to the musicians’ native Ireland, offering a moving and memorable concert experience. For over two decades, Danú’s virtuosi players on flute, tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion, bouzouki, and vocals (Irish and English), have performed around the globe and have recorded seven critically acclaimed albums. The group’s live DVD, One Night Stand, was filmed at Vicar St. Dublin.
Winner of numerous awards from the BBC and Irish Music Magazine, Danú has toured throughout Europe, the Middle East, and North America with stops at The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and Symphony Space in New York City. The group has presented major concerts in the United Kingdom, India, Israel, and across Europe. Danú’s popular recordings are available on the Shanachie label, and the musicians’ live performances are often broadcast on NPR, the CBC, and the BBC.

In order to provide a safe and comfortable experience for everyone at The Theatre at RVCC, all events are held at limited capacity with distanced reserved seating. All guests and staff are required to wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth while indoors, including while seated in the Theatre. The Theatre will be sanitized between performances, and hand sanitizing stations will be available in the lobby. In addition, food and beverage concessions will not be available for purchase.
