The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg is presenting a variety of offerings for children in May featuring clowning, singing, and the melding of digital imagery with performance. The following shows will be presented:

Pss Pss (Compagnia Baccalà), Saturday, May 5, at 7 p.m. (Recommended for ages 8 and older; all tickets $10)

Two modern-day clowns take to the stage, playing out their hilarious and unique pas de deux through the universal language of gesture and look. Unique, funny, and very charming, these two characters engage audiences in a riveting performance brimming with comic mishaps and infectious mayhem. An award-winning international theatre company based in Switzerland, Compagnia Baccalà has performed Pss Pss on five continents in over 50 countries.

KNOCK! (Magnet Theatre), Wednesday, May 9, at 2:30 & 4 p.m.; Thursday, May 10, at 10 a.m. & noon (Recommended for ages 2 and older; all tickets: $10)

KNOCK! is a new, indigenous South African theatre piece especially created for young children ages 2-5. Young audiences sing along with performers as they explore the numerous creative possibilities of forest wood.

Farfalle (Compagnia TPO), Monday, May 14, at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.; Tuesday, May 15, at 9 a.m. & 2 p.m. (Recommended for ages 4 and older; all tickets $10)

Farfalle is an immersive experience that creates an innovative, magical relationship between children and performers, melding digital imagery with multi-disciplinary performance techniques. Wondrous “sensory gardens” take audiences on an interactive journey through the story of a butterfly’s life cycle. The audience is invited to interact with these beautiful creatures—to visit a cocoon, or rest on an oversized flower. Italy’s Compagnia TPO is the world’s foremost pioneer in interactive performance media for all ages.
