Graduate Selected for Prestigious Fulbright Scholarship
Stephen Evarts of Frenchtown, a May 2024 graduate of Raritan Valley Community College, has been selected as a Fulbright Scholar for the 2026-2027 year.
In that prestigious role, they will act as an ESL teaching assistant and cultural ambassador at a developing state university in Turkey. Their participation in the Fulbright Program will run from September 2026-June 2027.
Evarts, who will graduate from Rutgers University in May with a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics and a minor in Philosophy, was previously honored with the 2024 New Jersey Council of County Colleges Student of the Year Award. They also participated in the U.S. Department of State’s Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program to study Turkish in summer 2024.
