RVCC to Host Earth Day Hike on Campus
In celebration of Earth Day on April 22, the public is invited to hike the “RV Trail,” located at Raritan Valley Community College’s Branchburg campus. During the 2.5 mile hike, set for noon-1:30 p.m., participants will walk along the campus perimeter and be able to pay homage to the planet and experience the trail’s rich diversity. It is not a guided hike, and hikers may walk at their own pace.
The RV Trail traverses a mix of environments, including woodlands, meadows, stream beds, and semi-rural land, and features a series of “points of reference” presenting unique messaging about the local ecology, RVCC’s sustainability efforts, and the history of the land from which the College emerged. The trail hike will offer the opportunity for both solitude, reflection, and exercise.
Those interested in participating in the hike are asked to park in RVCC Lots 1 (enter trail at southeast corner of lot) or Lot 5 (enter trail at northeast corner of lot). For additional information about hiking the RV Trail, contact Mike Marion, Executive Director, RVCC Foundation and RVCC Alumni Association, at michael.marion@raritanval.edu.
RVCC is located at 118 Lamington Road in Branchburg, NJ. For further information, visit www.raritanval.edu.
