A little bit about me:

My name is Alyssa Freda and I am currently a senior at Cornell University in the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management concentrating in Entrepreneurship. I started at RVCC in 2019 and graduated with a degree in General Business in 2021, before transferring into Dyson. I interned with PricewaterhouseCoopers this past summer and am currently working for Argopoint during my fall semester.

My time at RVCC:

I was a student in the Honors College and completed my Capstone Research Project, developing a business plan for a potential company that I hope to one day open. This project allowed me to grow so much as a business student and entrepreneur, and ultimately is one of the key reasons why I was accepted into Cornell’s highly competitive undergraduate business program. I could not have done this project without the help from my mentor and professor William Klinger who encouraged and inspired my love for business.

I was the president of the RVCC Animal Ethics Club. This position allowed me to learn the necessary leadership and communication skills required to be successful in the corporate world. I also participated in the Sanofi Corporate Mentor Program, led by the amazing Alicia Hermo-Weaver. During this program, students attended seminars and workshops with mentors from Sanofi and developed essential business skills like interviewing, networking, and recruiting. These are all skills that I’ve utilized throughout my career thus far and have helped me grow into the person I am today.

RVCC’s Career Services kickstarted my career in business by connecting me with my first internship with Rv3 Solutions, a commercial real estate advisory firm. This opportunity gave me hands-on experience in real estate and introduced me to new mentors who are still active in my life and career even after my internship ended.

Future Plans:

After graduating this May, I will be working full time for PricewaterhouseCoopers as an Associate in the management consulting sector. I am forever grateful for RVCC and the endless opportunities it provided me and could not have achieved any of this without the guidance of my RVCC mentors.
