Programs & Initiatives

RVCC’S Athletics Program promotes and encourages the enhancement of individual lives through social, academic, emotional and physical activity in the body of intercollegiate athletics. Support a team, take a sponsorship on the Athletics website page, or help purchase equipment.

The Center for Teaching, Learning and Scholarship is an academic and professional resource for the entire college community that supports the growth of faculty as educators, scholars, and experts in their fields. The Center also provides opportunities for RVCC students to conduct authentic research that leads to increased student success.  Donations to the Center also fund innovative ideas and opportunities that emerge during the year and occur outside of normal RVCC budget sources.

Civic Engagement programs highlight the important role individuals and institutions play in promoting civic involvement and public service.

  • Institute Holocaust and Genocide Studies provides programs and services for New Jersey middle and high school teachers and students, the RVCC community and the general public that promote the study of the Holocaust and other genocides and crimes against humanity, making  important connections between the past and current world events.
  • Paul Robeson Institute for Ethics, Leadership and Social Justice engages area high school students in educational programs that promote Robeson’s ideals of achievement in academics, the arts, athletics and citizenship.
  • Service Learning at RVCC helps students learn about complex social and economic issues affecting local communities and apply what they have learned in class to make a difference.

The Honors College at RVCC is a highly selective program that offers high-achieving high school students a rigorous and enriching academic experience.  Funds are needed for endowed professorships; visiting lecturers and Scholars-in-Residence; student retreats and excursions; honors colloquia; and Capstone Research Projects.

The Planetarium serves more than 20,000 K-12 New Jersey school children and teachers, with another 10,000 visitors attending the public programs. Help fund the educational digital library or capital upgrades for the 100-seat, Digital Full-Dome Planetarium.  Support the innovative K-12 initiative “Preparing for the Next Generation of Science Standards.”

The Theatre at RVCC offers world-class performing arts programs designed for the very young and their families, school children and adults, and members of the RVCC community, enriching the lives of more than 25,000 people annually. Sponsor a production; adopt a school to purchase tickets; support the series of programs for children on the autism spectrum.

The Visual and Performing Arts programs create a challenging and innovative space to study dance, theatre, digital media, and the visual arts. Fund an exhibit at the Art Gallery, cover the cost of a live model, or support a student theatre or dance production.
